Renovation of rural house. Las Médulas (León)
The existing stone façade was rebuilt and reinforced and the roof completely replaced.
Part of the façade that was in very poor condition was taken off, a passageway on the ground floor to enter the plot was opened up, and a large window with unbeatable views of Las Médulas was put in. The rest of the façade was cleaned and grouted and the window openings and lintels were rebuilt.
The top floor windows were replaced with iroko wood windows with double-paned glass.
The roof was completely taken apart and then fully replaced. A new boarded wood structure with insulation and double purlin was installed and then covered with slate. A window was put in to increase light and ventilation.
